people ask me all the time what they should wear for their family photo sessions. i tell them to think "coordination" more than "matching". think of color schemes that go well together. pick one child's outfit that has 3 or 4 colors to it and then put everyone else in the family in a solid color. don't forget accessories and layers...headbands/bows, vests/jackets, necklaces and hats. and if shoes stump you...then, don't wear any, i love barefoot photos. but one thing is for sure, everyone's style and personality should come through. family pictures doesn't have to mean matching dresses or suits and ties. relaxed, casual clothes photograph great because people feel comfortable. hope this helps, pictures should be fun....not stressful!
